Home Search Resources

Congrats, your home search is underway! Here's a few resources we use and suggest to our buyers to help as we search for your new home.

MLS Portal

If we haven’t already, we’ll set you up with an MLS portal through our local MLS, Bright MLS. This will send you up-to date email notifications on properties that meet your criteria. This is where all real estate agents enter their listings, and is more accurate and up to date than some of the other home search sites.

You can make comments and mark properties as favorites or possibilities in the portal - but if you ever have a question or there's a property you want to see - you can always reach me best by text, call or email.

Here's an instructional flier and video with some more information on how the portal works.

Homesnap

You can also search and find info on potential homes with my mobile app via Homesnap. This is great if you're driving areas you are interested in and want to find out about houses for sale where you're at, and it's also a great resource when we're looking at a home to look up that information.

Connect with us on Homesnap and download your agent’s app here:

Neighborhood/Area Info

Just to give a heads up - there's some questions real estate agents can't answer, due to Fair Housing laws and other restrictions. However, I completely understand that information on an area, schools, etc is likely important to you. Here's some resources to help you learn about specific areas you're considering:

Also - we suggest contacting local police departments and schools directly for questions on their area, as well as reaching out to friends or local Facebook Groups for the areas for input from current residents.

Google Maps

Google Maps is a great tool in your home search. If you have a property of interest, pop the address in Google Maps on your desktop to see an overhead view of the property and area, do a virtual drive-by with Street view and use the navigation options to determine commute times to your work/school at any day/time. While a virtual view/drive by won't give you all the information on a property, it's a great resource to help determine if a property is worth taking an in-person look at.

ShowingTime

We use a program called ShowingTime to manage the majority of our showing appointments. It's completely optional, but if you want to receive system notifications of our appointment times, approval status from sellers, you can get an app for that too!

Again, we’re glad you’ve decided to include us on your home search! We hope these resources help and as always, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!
